Thank you for visiting my website and taking the time to read about my practice in order to make an informed decision about whom to trust with your deepest feelings and thoughts.  It takes courage to seek out help and I applaud you for doing so.

My focus and dedication is to provide  competent, caring and compassionate mental health services to my clients.  As the name of my practice suggests, I use Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (MCBT) as the primary therapeutic approach.  Simply put, this model is a way for me to work with you (couple or family) to become aware of repetitive, unhelpful thoughts or actions in the present moment and then to use that awareness, along with strategies and techniques, to create behavioral and emotional change.  My focus is to treat an individual, couple or family system holistically, not diagnostically based on pathology.

With an awareness of thoughts and feelings in the moment, a temporal/mind space is created which will offer the opportunity of  choice.  With choice, the ability to respond rather than react in any given situation provides the way for a healthier and happier life.

A more centered, peaceful and insightful life is waiting for you at every moment.  By staying focused in the present, the past loses its grip to affect your life negatively and instead becomes a reference point for learning.  By staying focused in the present, the future is filled with possibilities and is not viewed as  something which creates anxiety, fear or the need to be controlled.

The present moment is the only one we live in and the only place where real change can occur.   If looking at and building on your strengths rather than focusing on pathology feels right to you, please give me a call to help you begin your journey.
