Licensed Psychotherapist
In the past twenty years it has been my privilege to work with hundreds of people from all walks of life who have shared their stories, their deepest feelings and selves with me. I have learned so much from each of them about courage and the resilience and beauty of the human heart and spirit.
I became committed to helping others as part of my own journey in healing trauma, overcoming depression and working my way through an extremely challenging period in my life. I was so grateful for the help I had along the way. A knowing came: "I want to do this for others."
From going deep within myself, I have learned to listen deeply to others. My years of meditation and yoga practice enable me to be present with greater empathy and compassion and I love to make room in therapy for a richer and more expansive view of what it means to be human. Creativity, love of nature, the arts and the beauty of the human spirit are a large part of who I am. I also have a healthy sense of humor.
I attended California Institute of Integral Studies where I got my Master's in Counseling Psychology and Expressive Arts Therapy. Over the years I have continued studies and trainings in psychodynamic and attachment theory, Jungian, transpersonal, humanistic/existential and Buddhist psychology, Mindfulness in Psychotherapy, Integral Somatic Psychotherapy, Gestalt, Hakomi, Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, EMDR and trauma treatment, and mindfulness-based CBT. I am a certified yoga teacher.
I love being a compassionate witness, coach and guide and look forward to supporting you on your journey of healing, growth and change. I invite you to contact me so we can talk about your situation and needs.
